A Korean Men were Crucified on May first.

Last Sunday, May first was the first Sunday after Easter week. In this date, not only Osama Bin Laden dead, but also a men, Mr. Kim 58-year-old were death at 6 a.m.

When Korean police officer found Mr. Kim at the abandoned mine, he was wearing white underwear and crown of thorns. His legs and neck was tied up with the Cross. His stomach has a bloody scar which is similar with Jesus Christ's death.

According to postmortem examination, his foot were nailed to a cross, but his hands had a hole with electric drill machine and then, fit them into the pre-nailed the Cross. There were a mirror in front of the Cross, a table clock, and a note saying the way of hagging body into the Cross.

His daughter proved his handwriting from the note, and police officers found a note for making the Cross, some bandages, and the way of hagging hands and drill his hand. But there were nothing personal saying memo.

The police are investigating into two case, suicide or homicide. The date of he death is closed with religions, so maybe some people were helping him to suicide in the way of death like Jesus Christ.

They are still investigating and the death body went to the National Scientific, Criminal & Investigation Laboratory.

JUSTJHJ 's Diary: Becareful of April 19th and 20th

 Today I have learned about the history of April 19th and 20th from the Law and ethics class of Journalism.

The talking was about something must happened on April 19th and 20th.
I was not totally agreed with this theory, but when I started to research about this, and I heard that an unhappy event today in Emporia, where I live in right now.

Basically, this is the notes historical happened on April 19th, and April 20th is Adolf Hitler's birthday.

Maybe Hitler's birthday is coming in tomorrow? I felt so scared that something happened aournd the world.

Absolutely, there are many bad and good news are going on everyday. But Unfortunately, I realized the back story of Greg Mortenson who is author of  "Three cups of tea" .  Actually, I watched the back story of him today, but the story was on 60 minutes on April 17th.

What a coincident moments the day I heard about the April 19th, 20th stories, the famous book author has been suspected in many questions about his works.

Also, while I am taking care of my assignments I have seen many cops in Emporia are passing by West 6th streets, and then I found a breaking news that Emporian found in dead without knowing the reason for it yet.

Tonight, I am feeling so scared to face with tomorrow but I hope that there will be a good news for tomorrow.!!
And Tonight, I am writing about my feature story on Innerbean cafe in Emporia, Kansas. I hopefully wanted to have creative writing skill for this assignment!! :) This blog will help me to make me as a good writer :)

Teddy Bear Clinic at Emporia Mall

Teddy Bear Clinic and Health Fair was held on April 16th, Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This annual event has been shown successful mission, which is educating medical equipments to children and let them have friendly memories with medical tools.

This event had sposored with Newman Regional Health, Emporia Public Library, Local Kiwainis Clubs, and Lyon Country Early Childhood Task Force.


Each child brought their own teddy bears to involve this event, and they got name- tag on their wrest same as their own dolls' wrest. Basically, every experience booth will be like this. Children's doll do first and then children can do withouth fearness. There were an X-RAY booth, which made up with boxes, and children put their own bearn into box. Then the bear got X-RAY sheet which shaped with bear. Or, Nursing studetns from ESU, checked the bear's heart with sthetoscope, and then the children easily let them to check their heartbeat.

Health Promotion major students are explaining the medical instruments to children by showing demonstration with the children's own dolls.

A child is watching the process of X-RAY, the result comes out in sheet of  bear shaped .

Nursing students is checking the heart beat of Rudolph, she looks serious to measure the heart beat.

A teddy bear is being measured the weight.

One child is experiencing to stitching as if the teddy bear is a patient, she got injured  her finger while doing this. But at the end, she successfully accomplished her job professionally. 

Nursing student who volunteered Teddy Bear Clinic today, said "When I checked the bears' heart beat, the kids said: are you really checking the heart beat or just pretending?, so I said  I am checking it!"

There were more many activities; such as, Face Painting, Fire Truck & Ambulance, Safety Education.

Next 15th Teddy Bear Clinic events will be held in every spring, April on Flinthills Mall, and there will be no ticket fee for this.

International Students in ESU, 2011 Spring

Bee a Busy Hornet, Recycling.

 When I came to America, I really surprised that there are lack of system to re-cycle in U.S.
Most Americans are throwing out their house garbage in one vinyl garbage bag, without sorting with food disposal and other materials; such as, glass, paper, can, etc...

I really want to inform that Americans are need to start their re-cycle habit in their lives.
Compare to Asia countries, American people are unknown with re-cycling benefit. According to Survey in 2010, 61% of Americans are not knowing about re-cycling benefit. Unknowing leads no action.

Here, a group from Theory of Persuastion class in Emporia State Universty presented their own plan to lead people to re-cylce in campus.

This is their main three messages.


1. Raise awareness about the need for recycling on our campus.
2. Support the sorting of food into compost bins in cafeteria
3. Increase participation in aluminum can recycling on campus

They did this presentation on March, 2011 in the class, but I think this is need to be informed people, especially to ESU students and faculties.

Right now, there are re-cycling department exist in ESU campus, but there are no action and lack of advertisement about this department.

President Michael R. Lane written a letter to vice president to urge the re-cycling program in ESU campus. In this letter, October 27th, 2009,  he mentioned that " This committee affords an opportunity to make a unique contribution, not only the University, but to our broader environment as well "

While one of the member of this group, Samantha Norris, interviewed them and said that " the member of re-cycle department asked us to help them to promote this re-cycling campaign in ESU and they would like to get our group's idea"

There are no re-cycle bins in the building of Vissel Hall, King Hall, Roosebelt Hall, and Beach Hall. It costs money to replace it. But if ESU students' effort to re-cycle in campus, this problem could fix while collecting donations to help ESU re-cylcing program.

Studying English with Drama series.

 I have two major in English and Journalism, and I always have been wondering  how to develop English skill, especially listening and speaking.

 Because it is the most important part before  you live in U.S. Now, here is very fun tips to study English effectively.

 My suggestion is Using DVD!!!

Not only you can experience American culture, but also you can see what is real conversation, out of boring text book.
Past over 10 years, most Asian schools have been focusing to teach grammar, vocabulary, and reading skill. However,  right now the most important thing is how much you can communicate with Native speakers. Also it's important that how much are you enjoying to study English to improve your English skill. This method will lead students to try to study hard. That is why this DVD is really good device to improve students' motivation to study English.

 

First of all, we need to choose what kind of DVD are you going to watch and learn.
There are very interesting drama and movies in America, but you should choose based on family story; such as, "Desperate Housewives", "Friends", "No Ordinary Family", or  "Gossipgirl".
Those are very easy to follow up the story.

 You may want to watch another more exciting stories; for example, "Sex and the City"," Bones", "House","CSI" etc.. However, those series are using very expert words which will not much connect with real life. If you start to know understanding the family drama first, then you may try to watch those criminal or medical drama later.


Second of all, How are you going to watch drama effectively for studying English.
Here is the experience that I have experienced for several years. This is the good way to follow up the story.

 1.Watching drama with subtitle with you own language.


 2. Watching drama with English subtitle.


3. Watching drama without subtitle.


4. Repeat again and again!!!


If you follow this guide, I am sure your speaking and listening skill in English will be better than now and more effective way to communicate with foreigners.

 As you know, we cannot live this society without Internet. It is really hard thing to seperate with you and computer. Absolutely, if you are considering about the third developed countreis' situation this words cannot work for it. However, what i want to say is base on our society, which is manging with economics and people, lives that based on Internet. We cannot ignore internet and other electric devices.

Recently, I learned about the Facebook effect, and I realized that social network; such as,YouTube and Facebook are really important device to PR yourself to the world.

These websites are not only give a spce for entertaining, but also give people opportunity to appeal their own ideas and tips on specific field.

Recently, Blair Fowler had intervew with Teen Vogue magazine.

Blair Fowler and Elle Fowler, who has 58million subscriber from YouTube. They are both have own Blog.
They have been uploading many beauty tutorials for 2 years, They are from Tennessee and moved to Los Angeles, so they could extend their field in Hollywood.


I think this is very important thing for Journalism students, who need to practice to communicate with netizens through the social networks. Basically, we are facing with many information, so not only stay with deliver to inform story but also you can be a speaker who can tell the story to people. Using social network is necessary merit to get a successful Journalism life.
